Escape Moab’s summer heat and enjoy an exclusive day-long horseback ride to Miner’s Basin in the La Sal Mountains.
Meet at the Hauer Ranch on the morning of your departure where you will get checked in before boarding a ranch vehicle and traveling to the trail head on the La Sal Mountain Loop Road. From there you will climb aboard a trusty horse or mule and ride into the aspen and evergreen-covered mountains, cross gurgling streams and see traces of early pioneer mining history. Start at an elevation of 4,000 feet and rise to the cool, green alpine climes of 9,500 feet.
Minimum group of four. Trip is available from June 15 to October 15. Advance reservations are required; age and weight restrictions may apply. Permitted with the U.S. Forest Service.
$299 per person; minimum group size four unless additional private ride fees are applied. Inquire directly with Hauer Ranch.
